Before you can design your art in Photoshop or Illustrator, it is important to sketch your ideas before hand. When sketching different ideas, our minds tend to think a mile a minute. Make sure to draw and write out every idea that comes to mind, good or bad.

From there, you can then pin-point which ideas you would like to create. It might be hard to narrow it down, and that is okay. For me, if I have different ideas that I would like to design, I try them out in Photoshop/Illustrator or whatever platform I am using. Usually from there, I know which design is a better fit for my project. It is okay to change your mind, that is why sketching your thoughts are so important. You are also able to feed off of other ideas that you might not have even thought of.

Remember, you work is a reflection of who you are as a designer. It is important to put out work that you are proud of. One of my proudest works of art is when I created an Avatar in Photoshop from a picture of a random person. This took so many hours, but in the end I think it turned out amazing!
